MessageBroadcast Launches Revenue Recovery Project for the State of California with Excellent Results

 

MessageBroadcast successfully completed a 4 week Revenue Recovery pilot for the State of California, Franchise Tax Board (FTB).

MessageBroadcast was awarded the contract for FTB in March 2010 through a competitive bid process. The FTB used MessageBroadcast’s multi-channel network to proactively send messages to taxpayers that have unpaid tax obligations. The network, which includes support for Voice, SMS, Email, and Broadband, automatically sends messages to taxpayers and provides them the opportunity to speak to a live FTB representative, log in to a web account or call back at a later time. The service is designed to inform and educate taxpayers that FTB would like to speak with them about their unpaid tax account.

The network is fully automated with built in intelligence to route callers to a specific call center or load balance messaging activity based on pre-defined business rules. The service is fine tuned to help FTB reach the largest number of California taxpayers at the least possible cost as well as provide taxpayers with a simple and easy to use system.

Highlights of the 4 week test are:

• $247,000 in Unpaid California Tax Recovery in 4 weeks
  • 118 Installment Agreements established that will lead to additional tax revenue recovered
  • An additional 197 tax returns were filed
  • FTB Goal was to recover $125,000-250,000
• MessageBroadcast Reached 59 percent of Targeted California Tax Payers
  • FTB’s Goal was to reach 10 percent to 22 percent
• MessageBroadcast pilot cost to the state is less than $2,800

California Franchise Tax Board expands income tax revenue recovery program with MessageBroadcast after successful test.

Sacramento – December 5, 2010: MessageBroadcast announced today that it has successfully launched a new Revenue Recovery service for the State of California, Franchise Tax Board (FTB).  MessageBroadcast was awarded the contract in March, 2010 through a competitive bid process managed by the California Department of General Services.   The Revenue Recovery system uses the MessageBroadcast multi-channel network to proactively send messages to taxpayers that have pending tax obligations.

 

The service is designed to inform and educate taxpayers that FTB would like to speak with them about their tax account.   MessageBroadcast’s network which includes support for Voice, SMS, Email, and Broadband automatically sends messages to taxpayer’s and provides them the opportunity to speak to a live FTB representative or call back at a later time.   The network is fully automated with built in intelligence to route callers to a specific call center or load balance messaging activity based on pre defined business rules.  The service is fine tuned to help FTB reach the largest number of taxpayers at the least possible cost as well as provide taxpayers with a simple and easy to use system.

 

According to FTB Public Affairs spokesperson XXX, “FTB views the taxpayer as a customer; and it is our job to educate, inform and provide the best service concerning tax planning, tax file processing and payment alternatives.  There are many reasons why pending tax obligations go unpaid; change of address, marital status change, unopened mail, or loss of job.  Many people are unaware that the state of California FTB serves as an agent to the state and, more importantly, a service provider to the people of California.  As a result, it is FTB’s job to understand the reason for unpaid taxes and offer solutions that are beneficial to the state and our customer, the taxpayer”.

 

During a one month test period, the program exceeded the FTB’s goals, reaching 59% of taxpayers versus a targeted 10 to 22%, collecting $247.2K versus a goal of $125K, with an additional $623K in installment agreements). 197 tax returns were filed that would not have been turned in otherwise. MessageBroadcast launches automated Medicare survey system for NebDoctors of Nevada

Irvine, California – August 1, 2010: MessageBroadcast announced today that NebDoctors of Nevada, provider of Nebulizers (pediatric respiratory products), has chosen MessageBroadcast’s automated survey solution to satisfy Medicare accreditation and compliance requirements. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) recently issued new quality standards to prevent fraud and promote quality care for Medicare recipients.

 

The new Federal law that went into effect on October 1, 2009, requires suppliers of durable medical equipment, prosthetics, orthotics and supplies (DMEPOS) to periodically survey their patients to ensure quality service.  In order to qualify for Medicare reimbursement, providers must receive accreditation from a recognized CMS (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services) authority such as CHAP (Community Health Accreditation Program) or JCAHO (Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations).
